Why this work matters
Why Healthspan Strategies
Longer life does not automatically mean more years in good health.
Prevention matters
Modern medicine and public health have helped people live longer — yet longer life does not automatically mean more years in good health. An analysis of 183 countries estimated a global average gap of 9.6 years between lifespan and healthspan: years commonly affected by illness or disability.
The World Health Organization defines healthy ageing not simply as living longer, but as maintaining the functional ability to keep doing what we value. Prevention cannot stop ageing or prevent every illness. But evidence-informed decisions and sustainable behaviours can influence important risks and help support function, resilience, and quality of life.

Health is an investment
People consult financial advisers to review their assets, understand risks, clarify priorities, and prepare for the future. Our health calls for the same care. My role is to help you review your Health Portfolio, identify the priorities that matter most, and create a practical Personalized Healthspan Strategy.
The return cannot be guaranteed or measured only in dollars. It may be experienced in something more valuable: more healthy, capable, and independent years.

Alongside — not instead of — medical care
Canada’s healthcare professionals provide essential diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and emergency care. Their role is irreplaceable. Yet timely access remains difficult: in a 2024 survey, only one in four older Canadians with a primary-care provider reported getting a same- or next-day appointment when needed.
That does not make medical care less important. It makes proactive attention to your health more important. Healthspan Strategies helps you act before, between, and alongside medical appointments — where everyday choices, habits, environments, and relationships shape your future health.
Before
Acting early, while everyday choices still have the most room to help.
Between
The long stretches between appointments, where habits and environments do their work.
Alongside
Preparing better questions for the professionals already caring for you.
Your future health deserves a strategy.
You cannot control every aspect of ageing. But you can make more informed decisions about how you support your strength, function, resilience, and well-being today.
